In this picture, you see an example of incorrect use of lead flashing on a corrugated tin roof. Over time, the two metals react (oxidation). You can see the lead flashing destroyed the corrugated roof sheet underneath. As a result, we had to replace the roof sheet, which was in places thin enough to poke a finger through. The Gyprock ceiling was also damaged, as the roof leaked over time. This could have been prevented if the correct flashing had been used.
Flashing is important.
